Introducing The Garage Door Defender
The Garage Door Defender is a specialist security solution designed to prevent unwanted entry to up and over garage door. Suitable for domestic garages and commercial lock ups, it screws into the concrete and anchors the door securely to the ground.
In addition to providing an effective extra layer of security to prevent entry, the Garage Door Defender also provides a highly visual deterrent designed to put off would be thieves.
It features:
- 70mm heavy security anti-drill disc padlock
- Concrete ground fixings
- 5mm laser cut, zinc plated base plate
- 4mm laser cut body with anti-drill plates
When we set out to create the Garage Door Defender – our goal was to create the absolute best, most secure product of its type. It was a big ask, and we’ve invested significant resources and man hours into the development.

The Sold Secure Rating
Sold Secure is a company that specialises in the assessment of security products. It’s owned by the Master Locksmiths Association – and its approval ratings are the absolute gold standard endorsement when it comes to security.
It offers three different levels of approval for security products in most areas:
- Gold – top level resistance against dedicated thieves, for high risk environments
- Silver – greater levels of resistance against more determined thieves, for higher risk environments
- Bronze – good levels of resistance against opportunistic thieves
Until the launch of the Garage Door Defender, the highest rated garage security solution was only bronze rated – which shows just how high the standards are.
We’re not ashamed to admit that we had sent multiple earlier versions of the Garage Door Defender to Sold Secure, confident that they would achieve the Silver rating, but they failed. It’s testament to the robust nature of the testing process – and makes achieving the award even more significant.
